Thank you for registering your child for swimming lessons through the NA Swimming & Diving Booster Organization. These lessons will be taught by the WPIAL Boys & Girls Swimming/Diving Championship team members and is coordinated by the NA Swimming & Diving Booster Organization and the NA Varsity Swim Coaching staff. This is a fundraising event for the booster organization. Spring Lessons are scheduled for Monday, May 20th through Friday, May 24th. The lessons are separated into Beginner and Intermediate Levels and are available for any North Allegheny resident, five years old and older. Listed below is a description of each level:
Beginner Level (5 years old and up) - This level is for any child who is not comfortable in the water by him/herself, does not like to put his/her face in the water, does not know any of the strokes and/or generally needs assistance in the water. Your child will work on putting his/her face in the water, getting comfortable jumping into the pool, and floating. The instructors will also begin teaching basic stroke and breathing techniques. There will be varying levels of the beginner classes, so if your child likes the water, but doesn't know any strokes, this level is for him/her. These lessons will be taught in the shallow end of the pool only.
Intermediate Level (6 years old and up) - This level is for any child who is comfortable swimming in deep water, knows the basics of freestyle and breathing. These lessons will be taught in the deep end of the pool. Your child will work on fine-tuning the four strokes, learn to dive off of the blocks, and learn to do flip-turns. There may be a couple different groups for these lessons that will be based on ability.
The dates and times are:
Beginner Level Session - 7:30pm - 8:00pm
Intermediate Level Session - 8:15pm - 8:45pm
