Waltham Track Club

WTC was founded in the summer of 1976 by (still head coach) Joe Tranchita, and initially served women only. A youth program for boys and girls was added in 1978, and a mens and masters program a year later. By the mid 1980s, the club had become one of the most diversified in New England, with more than 300 members between the ages of 8-60 involved all aspects of the sport from track and field to race-walking to road racing to marathon racing.

The club's open and master's programs have won numerous New England Outdoor Track and Field titles, twice finished second in the New England Grand Prix Race Series, and led the way in the masters movement by initiating an annual masters track and field competition.

The club's youth programs have been equally successful, its cross country program having won three national titles, numerous New England and Regional Junior Olympic titles, and has produced 11 individual national champions, and its youth track and field program has consistently qualified members for Regional and National Junior Olympic Championships and has had tremendous success in the development of high school athletes (more than three dozen members who have gone through our program have become Boston Globe and Herald All-Scholastics. Club members have achieved 69 All Americans awards.

Dues vary by program and a member's city of residence, with dues ranging from $125 to $225. Please click on the links for each individual club offering for more specific information.
