Middle School (Fall 2018 Incoming 7th & 8th Graders)
The Youth Summer Program is sweep rowing in stable 8-person or 4-person shells, for rowers with a variety of experience levels who enjoy a team atmosphere. This program will build on stroke fundamentals and knowledge of rowing to become more confident, efficient rowers. This class will focus on synchronization, timing, drills, and blade work. The coaches will work with all rowers throughout the session to offer drills/workouts and grow rowing knowledge and skills. Rowers will work on gaining a greater understanding of the rowing stroke, experience a multitude of drills, and gain a firm grasp of rowing terminology while getting a workout. Set-up and clean-up is a part of this program, this is a multi-boat class and rowers will be expected to help each other launch and rack boats at the beginning and end of row. Due to tide on The Neponset River, the 1st and 3rd week will be spent on the water while the 2nd week will be spent on land. Land training will consist of fine tuning technique on the ergs and strength training circuit work as well as fun activities.
Summer Session Two
Time: 8:00 am – 10 am
Dates: August 6th– August 24th (Monday – Friday)
Cancellation Policy: We practice in all weather except active lightning storms or other extreme conditions.
