Ipswich High School offers the following programs as a co-op with other schools. Registration and Participation Fees for the following sports is done through the host school.
Boys Ice Hockey - @ Rockport High School
Girls Ice Hockey - @ Beverly High School
Wrestling - @ Georgetown High School
Gymnastics - @ Gloucester High School
If an athlete owes equipment, a uniform, fees, an updated physical or any other item they will not be allowed to participate until these items are taken care of. Registration will close no later than the first scheduled contest for each individual team.
THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION:
1) READ HANDBOOK POLICIES
The 2019-2020 Student-Athlete Handbook can be found on the High School Athletics homepage.
2) ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION FEE:
The 2019-2020 athletic participation fee is $650 per individual with a $900 family maximum. Please make checks out to "I.H.S. Athletics" or make your payment online here: Ipswich Online Payment Center. We strongly encourage online payments for immediate withdrawal from your bank account (Checks may take several weeks to be deposited).
There is a non-refundable Registration Fee, $325 per student-athlete, due by November 26, 2019. The Registration Fee will then be applied to your Athletic Participation Fee. Once the $325 registration fee is paid, the balance on an individual Athletic Participation Fee will be $325, with an additional $250 for families of multiple children.
The $325 Registration Fee for the winter DOES NOT APPLY to families who have already paid the 2019-2020 Participation Fee in full ($650/$900).
Waiver Information: Families may apply for a waiver by filling out the Free or Reduced Lunch form. The form can be found in the main office. In order to qualify for an athletic participation fee waiver, documentation must be provided.
Payment plans may be utilized in order to pay in installments. Please contact the Athletic Department if you would like to start a payment plan.
3) COPY OF CURRENT PHYSICAL
Physical exam must be submitted to the athletic office by November 26th.
Physicals will be valid for 13 months from the date of exam. If the physical expires during the course of an athletic season, the student-athlete must submit an updated physical to the athletic office in order to remain eligible to participate.
4) COMPLETE ONE ONLINE CONCUSSION EDUCATION COURSE (Annual)
Parents and students – athletes who plan to participate in any Ipswich High School athletic program must annually complete a free on-line concussion course. Two free on-line courses are available and contain all information required by law. The first is available through the National Federation of High School Coaches. You will need to click the “order here" button and complete a brief information form to register. At the end of the course, you will receive a completion receipt. The entire course, including registration, can be completed in less than 30 minutes.

All parents are required to complete and submit Department Report of Head Injury During Sports Season Form to the athletic director if a student sustains a head injury outside of the extracurricular activity.
5) IMPACT CONCUSSION BASELINE TESTING (*Baseline Test)
All athletes participating in Basketball are mandated to take the ImPACT Concussion Baseline Test. The ImPACT Test is a computerized neurocognitive evaluation of a student-athletes uninjured brain, using video-game like tests to evaluate memory, reaction time and processing speed.
