Warrior Training Clinics 2018

Speed and Strength Clinic

Beginning Speed and Strength Clinic- A fun way to improve your speed and strength skills through different games and exercise techniques. Athletes will gain an understanding of different types of exercise from traditional weight lifting to techniques that are sport specific and other alternatives to keep athletes motivated to stay in shape. Coach Leblanc will tailor speed and strength workouts to meet the needs of the students enrolled in the program. Offered to boys and girls who are new to and looking to gain an understanding of how to weight train. (All grades welcome: Entering 6th through 12)

(Camp offered Weeks 1-4; M-T-TH-F) $100/week $300/4 weeks; 8:30am-10:00am

Advanced Boys Pre-Season Speed and Strength Clinic- Get prepared for the fall season or just come to improves your physical fitness. Coach LeBlanc will tailor a program to help you achieve your fitness goals and/or prepare you for your upcoming sport season. Coach Leblanc will be able to personalize workouts to meet the needs of specific athletes and specific sports. Offered students entering into Grades 10-12 who are familiar with weight training and/or have participated in the Speed and Strength programs in the past.

Advanced Girls Pre-Season Speed and Strength Clinic- Get prepared for the fall season or just come to improve your physical fitness. Coach LeBlanc will tailor a program to help female athletes achieve their fitness goals and/or prepare for the upcoming sport season. Coach Leblanc will be able to personalize workouts to meet the needs of specific athletes and specific sports. Offered to students entering into Grades 10-12 who are familiar with weight training and/or have participated in the Speed and Strength programs in the past.

Basketball Clinics

Come work with the Nipmuc High School Coaching Staff and Varsity Players!

Grade 5-7 Basketball Clinics will focus on the fundamentals of basketball. Players will learn to improve their dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense through a series of drills and games. Players will leave with an increased understanding of the game. 

Camp offered: Week 4: Boys and Girls (M-Th) $100 per camp; 9:00am-12:00pm (Girls); 12:00p-3:00p (Boys)

Meet the Instructors

Christopher Schmidt (Director): Christopher is completing his third year as Athletic Director at Nipmuc High School. Previously Christopher worked in the Franklin Public School system for 15 years as an Administrator, Teacher, and Coach. Christopher has coached Girls Lacrosse, Boys/Girls Soccer, and Fencing at both the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels.

Christopher Leblanc (Speed and Strength): Coach Leblanc is a certified strength and conditioning coach and the head of the program for Nipmuc High School. Nipmuc High School is one of the few high schools in the state, of its size, to offer a dedicated strength and conditioning coach. In addition to his role here, Coach Leblanc owns and directs Athletic Based Training in Milford. Christopher has worked with many athletes who have gone on to successful careers in all levels of NCAA sports.

Melissa Rhodes (Girls Basketball): Coach Rhodes is coming off her 3rd year as the Nipmuc Varsity Girls Basketball coach. Coach Rhodes was a multi-sport athlete at Becker College where she was a basketball captain during her senior season. In addition to basketball, Coach Rhodes is also the JV softball coach at Nipmuc High School. She is a 2014 graduate of Becker College and a 2010 graduate of Nipmuc.

Paul King (Boys Basketball): Coach King is in his first season as head coach of the Warriors. Prior to his time at Nipmuc, Paul was a 3-year Assistant Coach at Worcester State University and also served as a Junior Varsity Coach at Millbury High School and Freshman Coach at Blackstone Valley Tech. Paul is a 2009 graduate of Westfield State University and currently serves as a Middle School Wellness teacher in the Southbridge Public Schools.

** Nipmuc Varsity athletes as well as the team coaching staffs will be assisting at all of the camps.
