The Munroe Center for the Arts is dedicated to providing high quality arts programming for the entire community and beyond. The Munroe Center for the Arts offers visual and performing arts classes for all ages, in three semesters from September through June. These classes include ceramics, painting, drawing, jewelry, acting and more.
This summer Munroe Center is thrilled to debut our Summer Theatre Intensive! Come battle melodramatic lizards and form a new queendom alongside magical creatures outside the walls of Camelot! During these two weeks young actors will work to put on a one act production of Camelot and Camelittle, a re-telling of the classic knights of the round table. Through direction students will learn and work to put a show together from start to end, and will be encouraged to voice opinions on their visions for characters and blocking. Students will also learn about the thoughts behind other theatrical areas like directing, stage management, and scenic design. Additionally, students will learn the basics of staged combat and movement through professional instruction from Boston Based Fight Director Lauren Squier in order to bring safe choreography to battle these dragons
