Summer in the ZONE
An exciting opportunity coming to The ZONE is a “Summer Playlist” of educational, recreational and nutrition activities beginning summer 2018. One of the goals of The Zone is ensuring all kids can continue to learn and thrive during the summer. Partners from Spokane Public Schools, Spokane Police Dept, Second Harvest, Spokane Public Library, and other organizations are connecting their programs and ensuring kids of different ages from the same family have access to free or low-cost, age-appropriate activities in Northeast Spokane. Shaw Middle School will be one particular hub of activity because of its proximity to the North East Community Center, Hillyard Library, and its Free and Reduced Lunch/Breakfast program.
