The students train, compete and socialize as equals. Practices begin on April 3rd and will meet approximately 2x per week (on Mondays and Wednesday) There will be 3 qualifying meets, a sectional meet and a State Championship Meet for those who qualify. The number of "Partners" in the program will depend on the number of "Athletes" in the program. Ideally, 1/2 of our team will be athletes and 1/2 of our team will be partners. Events include: Shot Put, javelin, Long Jump, 100 meter, 400 meter and 800 meter runs, 4 x 100 meter and 4 x 400 meter relays.
MEET THE COACHES NIGHT
All spring student-athletes, and at least 1 parent/guardian, are required to attend "Meet the Coaches Night" on Tuesday, March 14th. The program will begin promptly at 6:00PM in the FHS Auditorium. Please bring a copy of the student-athlete's current annual physical, and hand it in to the coach during the break out session. Pertinent information on tryouts, team rules, hazing, transportation, practice & games schedules will be distributed. This is also an opportunity for parents to meet the coaching staff and ask questions.
COPY OF CURRENT ANNUAL PHYSICAL
To enroll on a team, this FamilyID registration form must be completed and a hard-copy of the student's current physical must be submitted to the head coach at Meet The Coaches Night on March 14th. The MIAA requires that all student-athletes have up to date/current physicals on file during an entire sports season. Any student-athlete whose physical expires in season will not be allowed to continue participating until a new physical is on file with the school nurse. Athletes without up-to-date physicals will not be allowed to participate until a current physical is turned in.
COMPLETE ONLINE CONCUSSION COURSE
Parents and students-athletes, who plan to participate in any Franklin High School athletic program, must complete a free on-line concussion course. The entire course, including registration, can be completed in less than 30 minutes and can be found at: http://nfhslearn.com/courses?s...
