Children and adolescents in the 1st-12th grades are paired one-on-one or in small groups with Harvard undergraduate students who make learning exciting by creating hands-on activities tailored to individual interests, and serve as college-age role models. By supporting creativity, curiosity, validating questions and instilling the skills to search for answers, our undergraduate Mentors encourage youth to develop strong self-identities as enthusiastic learners. The Mentoring Program seeks to break down traditional walls between subjects by incorporating visual art, music and technology into writing, math, science and public speaking.
3rd-8th graders may explore their interests in writing, public speaking, science, art, math and/or technology.
Mentoring is a 10-week long program. Mentoring sessions take place once a week, are 50-minutes in length and are offered Monday through Thursday at 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m., or 6 p.m.
