The Solvay Success Academy is an extension of the academic curriculum that provides students an opportunity to learn about college expectations and earn actual college credits while attending Solvay High School. Students can earn 24 to 60 college credits and have the potential to graduate high school with their Regents diploma and a 2 year Associate Degree in a STEM related program from Onondaga Community College. Students in the Solvay Success Academy will also be introduced to different programs and careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
All students currently in 8th grade at Solvay Middle School and Lyncourt School, who will be attending Solvay High School beginning September 2020, are encouraged to apply. A total of 30 students will be selected for the program after all applications are reviewed. Students applying for the program should be hard-working, focused and accepting of new challenges. Applicants should have some interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Applicants should also be open-minded and excited about new educational experiences.
