CHIEF KANIM MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS
CKMS offers a no-cut athletic program to encourage positive participation for all students. We encourage students to get involved in after-school sports to promote fun, fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship. The CKMS athletic program is open to all students in the 7th and 8th grades. In addition, sixth graders may participate in Cross Country, Girls Soccer, Wrestling and Track. CKMS participates in league competition with TFMS, SMS, as well as Tolt and Islander Middle Schools.
Physical: Print this physical form for your family doctor. You will be asked to upload your physical as you fill out this registration. No student may practice or play without a current physical. No exceptions. Physicals are good for two years. If a student played sports last year at CKMS, or if you provided a physical already this year, the office has your physical and will verify the date.
PLEASE NOTE...MEDICATIONS: Please make sure that an adult or your child carries his/her emergency medication when participating in school sponsored extra-curricular activities and athletics off campus (away games). Emergency medications stored in the health room should not leave campus overnight but will be available to students while participating in extra-curricular activities and athletics on campus.
Grade Checks: Grades will be checked every two weeks to ensure an athlete is passing. More details can be found on attendance, behavior, and academic exceptions in the below registration.
Participation Fee: $80 per sport. Students also must join ASB ($20 annual fee).
Transportation: One-way buses will be available to all away games and to home soccer games played at CKMS. Parents will need to arrange for transportation home or use the Transportation agreement below to indicate others parents that may drive your student.
Practices: Practices are held Monday-Thursday, 2:30-4:00 p.m., with no practice on Friday. There is an activity bus that loads at 4:35 p.m. and will drop students at Cascade View Elementary or Timber Ridge Elementary after practice.
