Scholar Athletes 2017/2018 Zone Membership Application

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We hope this finds you well and as excited about the 2017/2018 school year as we are!

As you may know, Scholar Athletes is a non-profit organization that serves thousands of Boston Public, Springfield Public and Everett Public high school students with targeted academic support each day throughout the school year. We do this through our “Zones”, which are school-based learning centers located within your child’s high school. Our Zones are open during the day and after school, and have a full-time, Scholar Athletes staff member, called a Program Coordinator, managing and overseeing the space and its programming.

While in the Zone, your child has the opportunity to participate in college/career readiness programming, work with tutors from local colleges and participate in dozens of sports and health and wellness programming for free. We believe that they are not only improving their academic standing by doing this, but also their confidence in their ability to succeed in high school, in college and in life.

Attached, please find our membership application that includes a variety of information that we gather in order to best support Zone members‘ needs. Our ability to best serve your child and provide additional resources for our Zone members is very much tied to our ability to capture complete and accurate information. Please know that all information we gather will be kept confidential. We know that high school students have their choice of organizations to join and we are honored to have your child as a Zone member in our organization.

If you have questions regarding this membership packet, feel free to contact your Zone’s Program Coordinator or anyone on the Scholar Athletes team.

Thank you again for your support and I wish you and your family an amazing school year!
