In today’s society there is more information available to us than ever before. The goal of PVIS Music Department social media accounts is to keep learners, their families, and the community-at-large informed about instrumental and vocal music happenings throughout the district as well as to share other pertinent news about PVHS Bands: Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Ensemble.
Each PVHS Band or Chorus social media specialist will assist in maintaining the organization’s official Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook accounts. Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging service that enables users to send and read text-based messages, known as Tweets. Instagram is a social networking app made for sharing photos and videos from a smartphone. Facebook is a social networking site that allows organizations to post updates and share information. Your learner has agreed to take on the role as an official Pequea Valley High School Music Department Media Specialist. The responsibility of creating and sharing posts and expanding the profile's following will the be primary focus of this function.
A social media specialist will not be permitted to use a personal account for this project, nor to follow accounts that do not relate to project content (ex. friends, family members, etc.). He or she will be following legitimate musicians, music programs, and related organizations as well as creating original content about events happening in the PV Instrumental and Vocal Music programs.
We look forward to implementing this technology at Pequea Valley and teaching our learners how to safely and appropriately use various social media tools as well as to promote our vision: "Passionate Music-Making without Boundaries".
