All students in grades 7 through 12 who wish to ride the school bus to/from any of the North Reading Public Schools MUST be registered in order to acquire a bus pass, regardless of distance from school and/or even if they are deemed eligible for free/reduced lunch through the application or the direct certification process.
Please note a separate application must be submitted for each child.
The full-year fee is $400 per student with a $650 family maximum. If your application is received after JUNE 5, 2020, the fee is $450 per student with a $700 family maximum. There will be no exceptions to the $50 late fee so please meet the June 5th deadline.
*Given these extenuating circumstances there will be no late fee assessed this school year for not meeting such a deadline. With that being said, so we can be as prepared as possible for next school year, we would greatly appreciate it if you register for your bus pass on Family ID by the June 5th original date and submit payment by August 1, 2020. As an incentive to meet this deadline we will once again raffle off a free bus pass at each school for all families who register by the June 5th date.
*Online Debit/Credit payments will be processed via Unibank at the end of the registration form. If selected, you will be redirected to the Unibank website to make the payment.
Families who are eligible for free or reduced lunch may have their fee waived if they qualify. Please remember that free and reduced lunch applications are due annually. You must complete a new application each year to be considered for free and reduced lunch. These applications for the 2020-21 school year will be posted at the end of June.
- Bus stops and routes will be updated throughout the summer and will be finalized between mid to late August and posted on the District website.
- Bus routes will also be published in the North Reading Transcript on or about the last week in August.
- Bus routes are subject to change at any time.
Students must be prepared to display their pass daily. Students not displaying a pass will be reported to the Principal. Only non-refundable annual passes are sold because full-year commitments must be made to the bus company and we need to know the number of riders before the year begins. Passes are non-transferable and there is a $15 replacement fee for all lost bus passes.
