Monument Academy State Standardized Assessment Refusal - 2020-2021

Registration Deadline 03/19/2021

We are not yet sure how government response to Covid-19 may impact CMAS/CoAlt assessments planned for the 2020-2021 school year. We do know that there will not be an option to take the assessments remotely.

Registration Period:  Now - 4/11/21
Registration Deadline:  Please submit assessment refusals by 3/19/21

During the month of April, Monument Academy typically administers the CMAS/CoAlt standardized assessments. Colorado Law requires students in grades 3 through 8 to complete CMAS assessments, with an additional requirement for students in 11th grade to complete a CMAS science assessment. Students eligible for CoAlt assessments are required to complete them in grades 3 through 12. Additional legislation allows parents to refuse assessment of their student(s) without any ramifications. Per board policy, parents/guardians may choose to excuse their student(s) from participation in the state-mandated standardized tests by completing and submitting the online "Assessment Refusal" found here no less than 3 days before the day of testing, although for planning purposes we do ask that refusals are submitted prior to spring break. All refusals must be submitted online, we will not accept paper submissions. Directions to submit the Online Assessment Refusal, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions web page are found in the "Links" section of the web page to the right. Please contact the Assessment Coordinator with any questions you may have.

Please use the NAME OF YOUR CHILD in the Participant Information section as opposed to your own. While we can usually determine which child you are requesting be excused from testing, the state requires the name of the child be on the refusal. Thank you!

Online registration for this program is currently closed/unavailable. Please contact Monument Academy for further information.
