During the month of April, Monument Academy will begin administering the CMAS/PARCC/CoAlt standardized assessments. Colorado Law requires students in grades 3 through 8 to complete these assessments, but additional legislation allows parents to refuse assessment of their student(s) without any ramifications. Per board policy, parents/guardians may choose to excuse their student(s) from participation in the state-mandated standardized tests by completing and submitting the online "Assessment Refusal" found here no less than 3 days before the day of testing, although for planning purposes we do ask that refusals are submitted earlier. All refusals must be submitted online, we will not accept paper submissions. Directions to submit the Online Assessment Refusal, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions web page are found in the "Links" section of the web page to the right, or can be picked up at the school’s main office. Please contact the Assessment Coordinator with any questions you may have.
