The health form in FamilyID must be completed within 30 days of the season starting in order to ensure that health information is current. In order to process the student-athletes' medical and eligibility information, FamilyID registration will close 7 days prior to the start of the season. Family ID registration will remained close until the first day of the season.
IF you do not sign up before FamilyID closes, and wait until it is RE-opened, your child's start to their sport season will be delayed and playing time may be influenced due to NYS's required number of minimum practices. When the system is RE-Opened, the nurses will process the FamilyID registrations as quickly as possible and coaches will be notified when students may begin practices. Students WILL NOT be able to participate in practice until approved through the FamilyID system.
Students in grades 9-12 are eligible for Varsity and JV sports, and students in grades 7 & 8 are typically eligible for only Modified sports. If you are the parent of a 7 or 8th grader who wishes to participate in high school sports by using the Athletic Placement Process (APP), please contact the Varsity Coach of the sport in which your student would like to participate. After talking with the Varsity Coach, you will need to talk to the Athletic Director (315-255-8817) to discuss APP and sign your student up for the District maturity and fitness tests.
Auburn Athletic Philosophy: Education has the important responsibility of preparing young people to be well-rounded individuals who are capable and willing to take their place in our society as responsible citizens. Co-curricular activities, such as athletics, offer ideal venues in which to promote the development of our students into well-rounded individuals.
The Auburn Athletic Department will strive to use the interscholastic athletic experience to enhance the mental, physical, moral, social and emotional development of our students. We will strive to provide students with experiences from which they can learn and grow. We acknowledge the importance of our role, to supplement the home and other social agencies in developing habits and attitudes that contribute to an increased quality of life. The Athletic Department staff appreciates that athletics provide an opportunity to teach valuable life lessons, and that those lessons can be learned in a team environment where the consequences are often much less severe than in other life settings.
Participant Eligibility: In order for Auburn students to be considered eligible for participation, parents/guardians will need to complete the on-line Athletics Registration forms, and both the parent and student must "sign" the appropriate documents. This process will allow the District to ensure that all program administration requirements are satisfied and your student-athlete is eligible for participation.
