It is best for your student-athlete to understand the format of the ImPACT test prior to taking the it in an effort to avoid a potential invalid test result, which would require the student-athlete to retake the test to acquire a valid baseline result. Below is a link for the student-athlete (and parents if you would like) to take a demo version of the ImPACT test, which will familiarize the student-athlete with what the test is like. You are strongly encouraged to take the Demo. It is important that the student-athlete take the actual test seriously and is able to give an accurate baseline result. An abnormal or inaccurate baseline test or refusal to take a baseline test will not give a true assessment of the student-athletes neurocognitive functions. This could significantly slow down the student-athletes return to learning and return to play protocols, as treatment must be managed more conservatively.

We wish to stress that the ImPACT testing procedures are non-invasive and pose no known risks to your student-athlete. We are excited to implement this program because it provides us the best available information for managing concussions.
