Dear Third Grade Families,
As a culmination to our Life Science studies, what a better way than to take a field trip! The third grade class will be visiting the Bucks County Audubon Society, also known as Honey Hollow right here in our community. The field trip will be on Wednesday, May 20th.
The students will be participating in experiential, hands-on field activities and cooperative learning opportunities outdoors. We will depart from the Upper Elementary school around 9:15 and we will return around 2:20. The day will include 2 programs: Predator and Prey and Animal Adaptations where students role play, becoming animals in a food chain, attempting to fill their survival needs, while avoiding predators and learning about animal interactions and adaptations. Students should bring a bagged lunch for a picnic style lunch outdoors. Students will be divided into groups for the day to experience the outdoor classroom activities. Each small group will be assisted by a chaperone throughout the day. Although the number of chaperones is limited, please indicate your interest below if you would like to volunteer to accompany a group on the trip AND you already have the necessary clearances on file with the school. I will contact those parents who will be accompanying us on the trip by email following the collection of all permission slips.
The cost of the trip will be $20.00 per student for the entire day of outdoor exploration. You may pay either by PayPal through FamilyID, cash (exact amount), or check. If paying by check, please make checks payable to: “New Hope-Solebury Upper Elementary School.” In order to secure the reservations, please submit the permission slip on FamilyID and return with your payment no later than Friday, March 20th.
