Swampscott High School is proud to offer the following Spring sports to Swampscott High School Students:

The High School Spring Season will begin on Monday March 16th for all sports.
Student Athletes completing registration after the March 11th deadline may not be cleared for participation before the the season begins.
There will be practices and competitions over long weekends and April Vacation!

User Fee Payments are made separately from this registration on the District Website.
The user fee for all sports for the 2019-2020 school year is $375.00/per sport -per student athlete. There is a family cap of $1,875.00. User fees must be paid each season prior to the first practice/evaluation. The user fee can be paid on-line with a credit card or electronic check here User Fee Payment or a check or money order made out to the Town of Swampscott with the athlete's name/ sport on the memo line and sent to Athletics at the high school. Please make sure that the parent's name, address and telephone number are on the bank check/money order.
Any family seeking to have user fees waived must first apply for free/reduced lunch and submit the Hardship Waiver Form to the School Business Office located at 207 Forest Ave. User fees will be waived for all students who qualify for free lunch and reduced for those students qualifying for reduced lunch (forms are available online and in the main office). If you do not qualify for free/reduced lunch the School Business Administrator will work with families on a individual basis. Waiver requests should be submitted to the School Business Manager Martha Sybert at Msybert@swampscott.k12.ma.us for consideration.
User Fees are non- refundable, after the first competition of the year. Students who owe any outstanding user fees from previous season, who have not returned a uniform from a previous season or who have not paid the current seasons fee will not be allowed to compete until these obligations are met. PHYSICAL EXAMS/IMMUNIZATIONS/MEDICAL CLEARANCE
All student athletes are required to turn in a copy of their most recent physical, dated no earlier than February 16, 2019. Physicals are valid for 13 months and MUST be to FamilyID or turned in to the Athletic Office by Wednesday March 11, 2020 via mail, fax, email, or in-person. Student athletes will not be allowed to practice without a current (within thirteen months from the start of the sports season) physical exam form signed by a physician on file in the athletic office.
Please be aware that, if a student athletes physical expires during the season, they will become immediately ineligible and will not be permitted to participate until an updated physical is on file in the Athletic Office! It is the responsibility of the student athlete and parent/guardian to provide this information to the Athletic Department prior to the expiration date
Student Athletes who are not allowed to play due to documented injury, illness or an existing medical condition must have written clearance from their doctor before resuming practice or competition.
MANDATORY STUDENT ATHLETE AND PARENT/GUARDIAN MEETING (Change to requirement from the Fall)
The mandatory student athlete/parent guardian athletic meeting for the high school teams will be held on Monday March 9, 2020 at 6:00PM in the High School Auditorium. Student Athletes and Parents will first meet as a large group in the Auditorium to review both MIAA and Swampscott Public Schools rules and expectations and then break out by sport to meet with coaches and receive all team rules and expectations at this time. Any student athletes who played a Fall or Winter Sport at Swampscott High School and their parents have the option of not attending the first portion of the meeting and going directly to the Coaches portion at 6:20PM. This meeting is an eligibility requirement that must be met. Any student athlete/parent/guardian who does not meet this requirement will become ineligible to participate until a meeting with the Athletic Director has taken place.
ANY STUDENT PARTICIPATING ON THE SAILING TEAM WITH SALEM MUST ATTEND THE SALEM ATHLETIC MEETING WITH A PARENT AT SALEM HS NOT THIS MEETING. PLEASE CONTACT SALEM ATHLETICS WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.
