The Strength and Conditioning Program is run by Franklin High School's Physical Education Teachers Matthew McLaughlin and Michael Masto.
Director of Strength and Conditioning - Matthew McLaughlin M.S. Strength & Conditioning Bridgewater St. University; CSCS, USAW
Matt has 7 years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach at Wheaton College, Bridgewater State University, United States Olympic training center, Attack Athletics, and Athletic Based Training. Matt has worked with athletes from the elementary, middle and high school level as well as DI-III colleges, and professionals. Matt has also spent 2 years prior to coming to FHS working under former director Liane Blyn.

Mr. Masto is entering his 8th year in Franklin Public Schools and has served in numerous roles related to this program's success. The most pertinent, is his role with the summer Strength and Conditioning program. Since the start of this program in 2013, Mike has served as an Assistant Coach to Liane Blyn since the program started, and aided Liane as the program jumped from 150 participants in 2013, to 613 in 2016!. Mike has served as a Coach of numerous Sports here at Franklin High School including: Swimming and Diving, Football, Lacrosse and Basketball.
Each session runs for 1.5 hour Monday through Thursday. The sessions are designed to focus on an athlete's overall fitness, core strength and athletic mechanics. Workouts may be geared toward specific sports or simply focus on the overall conditioning of Franklin's athletes.
All Strength and Conditioning sessions begin June 26th and run Monday through Thursday through August 17th.

The cost is $150 if you:
- pay by check at any time
- register on or after June 16th
- pay on-line on or after June 16th
- After June 16th, the cost is $165

Registration and Payment
All students who participate in this summer's program MUST be both Registered and Paid before he/she will be allowed to begin workouts. Students who are not registered and paid will not be allowed to start workouts until both steps have been completed.
Follow these simple steps to ensure you are ready to start workouts on June 26th.
1. Register by selecting your session below.
2. You are not registered until you receive confirmation from Family ID.
When registration has been completed, you will receive an email confirmation letter from FamilyID. In this email will be a link that will direct you to our UniBank payment portal for the online payment of fees.
3. Please print out your registration confirmation from Family ID and have it with you on your first day of the workouts.
4. To pay:
You can either wait for your confirmation email from Family ID to direct you to the online payment link, or you can click the link to the online payment through Unibank to pay your $150 fee.
If you would rather pay by check ($150 fee) , make your check payable to Town of Franklin. Please write your son/daughters first and last name on the check. Submit your check to the Athletic department, or send your check to the following address:

The Strength and Conditioning Program for high school students, incoming grades 9-12, are open to Franklin High School students only due to the overwhelming demand for this offering.
The Strength and Conditioning Program for middle school students, incoming grades 5-8, are open to all Franklin residents.
Strength and Conditioning Program for Franklin High School Students
The following sessions are for Franklin High School Students only. Each is geared toward the sport stated. With the exception of incoming freshman, students who are enrolled in the Strength and Conditioning Program for High School Students can attend any session listed.
Early Bird - 6:30AM-8:00AM (incoming grades 10-12)
Sleep In - 8:00AM-9:30AM (incoming grades 10-12)
Freshman Football and ALL Boys' sports
For The Girls - 9:30AM-11:00AM (girls entering grades 10-12) All Sports
Incoming Freshman Boys* - 11:00AM-12:30PM (boys entering grade 9 who ARE NOT playing Football)
Incoming Freshman Girls* - 9:30AM-11:00PM (girls entering grade 9) All Sports
Strength and Conditioning Program for Franklin Middle School Students
Middle School Strength and Conditioning for Boys - 11:00AM-12:30PM (boys entering grades 7&8)
Middle School Strength and Conditioning for Girls - 9:30AM-11:00AM (girls entering grades 7&8)
Middle School Fitness and Games - 12:30PM-2:00PM (boys and girls entering grades 5-7)
All Fitness and Sports Levels - Focus will be on overall fitness and games.
*Incoming freshman girls must attend the For The Girls session from 9:30AM-11:00AM.
It is not mandatory for incoming freshman to attend the Strength and Conditioning Program, but those who do must attend the session designated for incoming freshman.
