Franklin High School is pleased to offer the following sports for the Fall 2018 season: Please choose 1 sport for your child.
Boys Cross Country
Girls Cross Country
Physicals may be handed in by on or before August 10th. Friday August 10th is the last possible date to handle your registration responsibilities. Students who sign-up for a particular sport, and DO NOT make the roster of that team, may transfer to a "non-cut" sport.
All candidates Must:
-- Bring in a copy of a Valid Physical in to the Athletic Department (within 13 months) BY AUGUST 10th.
-- Register online through Family ID
-- Parents and student-athlete must take the online Concussion Course at www.NFHSLEARN.org
-- Take your baseline 2017-18 Impact test at Franklin HS (Dates T/B/A). This test will be administered by our Athletic Training Office.
COPY OF CURRENT ANNUAL PHYSICAL
To enroll on a team, this online registration form must be completed and a hard-copy of the student's current physical must be submitted to the ATHLETIC OFFICE before August 10th. The MIAA now requires that all student-athletes have up to date/current physicals on file during an entire sports season. Any student-athlete whose physical expires in season will not be allowed to continue participating until a new physical is on file with the school nurse. Students should also attend the pre-season meetings, which will take place a few days before the start of each season. Information about the date and time of these meetings will be announced in school; signs will be posted by the gymnasium and also listed on the FHS Athletics web page and on Twitter at @FHSsports
COMPLETE ONLINE CONCUSSION COURSE
Parents and students-athletes, who plan to participate in any Franklin High School athletic program, must complete a free on-line concussion course. The entire course, including registration, can be completed in less than 30 minutes and can be found at https://nfhslearn.com/
OPIOD MISUSE PREVENTION
Massachusetts is in the midst of an opioid epidemic, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) has developed educational materials to partner with schools across the state in sharing key information and resources with students, parents and school personnel. Because of the risk of injury and the subsequent need for pain management, student athletes may be at risk for opioid misuse. Please take the time to review this material with your child. http://masstapp.edc.org/rx-stu...
Will be organized preseason through the FHS Athletic Department. Will be taken at organized times in the FHS Computer labs. Dates and times will be communicated by coaches and through the @FHSsports Twitter account
All sport participants pay a user fee to the Town of Franklin. Fees will vary depending on the sport. This
information will be found on the Family ID portal. All On-Line Fees MUST be paid the week of
September 3rd. The amount of the user fee associated with each sport will be found on Family
ID. Checks will be accepted at any time. Please make out checks to "The Town of Franklin". Please be sure to include your child's name and sport on the memo line.
Financial assistance for the athletic fee is available for those that participate in the free/reduced lunch program. Please contact the Athletic Director.
When registration has been completed, you will receive an email confirmation letter from FamilyID.
