Dear Parents and Student-Athletes,
Welcome to the Hampton Township School District's athletic program. We are pleased you have made the decision to play for the Talbots, and hope you have an enjoyable experience this season. Being part of a team has many benefits and rewards. Student-athletes learn the importance of integrity, respect, discipline, and hard work, and how to deal with success and overcome adversity. Not only do these teachings build good character and confidence, they are the most significant results of participating in high school sports. What's more, lessons developed on the field, court, or in the gymnasium are lifelong lessons easily applied in the classroom and workplace and help young people become a positive influence in the community.
Participating in Pennsylvania's interscholastic athletics program requires certain mandatory procedures and rules as set forth by the PIAA and the Hampton Township School District. Effective immediately we are now offering the convenience of online registration for your son/daughter for our sports programs through our partner company, FamilyID (www.familyid.com). FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our athletic programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. When you register, you will only have to enter your information once. All athletes must register for all sports they are trying out for during the 18-19 school year (fall, winter and spring sports). If you are having problems registering on FamilyID, please contact FamilyID support at 1-888-800-5583 prompt 1.
Please remember that you will STILL be required to complete Sections 5 - Health History and 6 - PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation and Certification of Authorized Medical Examiner (this is the actual physical exam performed by the doctor). Both forms need to be completed, signed, dated and returned to the athletics office after June 1, 2018 or prior to the season your son/daughter will be trying out for. The physical must be signed and dated June 1, 2018 or later and will be effective, regardless of when performed during a school year, until May 31, 2019.
Fall sports start Monday, August 13 (August 15 for 7/8 Football, August 20 for 7/8 boys' & girls' soccer. Sections 5 & 6 are due in the High School Athletics Office by Friday, July 27, 2018.
If you have any questions, please contact the athletics office at 412-492-6389, or email Mrs. Schwab at firstname.lastname@example.org.
