Welcome to Enfield High School's Summer Conditioning Athlete Registration. We are excited to offer the ease of online registration.
Enfield Public School’s Athletic Department is committed to the educational development of students and feels that a properly controlled, well-organized, sports program will meet the student’s needs of self-expression, mental alertness, and physical development. It is our hope that all student-athletes will learn the value of goal setting, sportsmanship, citizenship, and self-reliance. Additionally, the student-athlete should come to understand the importance of self-discipline and hard work in attaining success.
Completion and submission of this form must be received before the student-athlete may participate in any summer conditioning sessions.
COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Enfield High School and CAS-CIAC believe that it is essential to the physical, mental, and social-emotional well-being of Connecticut students/youth to safely re-engage in extracurricular experiences, physical activity, and athletic competition. Returning to play does not mean a return to “normal”. While re-socializing to activity we are still responsible for doing our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Any consideration of returning to physical activity and athletic competition must adhere to all requirements set forth under the executive orders of Governor Lamont, account for the health and safety of all participants, and equitably provide opportunities for all Connecticut student/youth-athletes. CAS-CIAC’s guidelines have been vetted by the Connecticut State Medical Society, Sports Medicine Committee; the Connecticut Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA); the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE); the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS); the Connecticut Association of Athletic Directors (CAAD); and the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA).
Consideration of a safe return to interscholastic/youth sports must be with an understanding that COVID-19 is born out of a global health pandemic. This is a health issue, not a sport issue, nor an education issue. Sports have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and our student/youth-athletes significantly affected. However, it is our primary responsibility to provide safe physical activity that does not contribute to the spread of COVID-19.
Our main goal is to provide a safe return to interscholastic/youth activity which requires a gradual phase-in approach that accounts for participant and community safety.

PHASE 2 REQUIREMENTS BEGINNING ON JULY 6 (CURRENT GUIDELINES STATE THAT THIS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR 4 WEEKS)
All athletes and coaches will be required to perform a self-screening of any possible COVID-19 symptoms prior to arrival. Each of these self-screening results will be recorded by the coach for reference in possibility of a positive case. If you answer YES to any of the below symptoms , you will not be allowed to participate and you should self-isolate and make contact with your PCP.
The symptoms are as follows:
- Fever or Chills
- Nasal Congestion or Runny Nose
- Sore Throat
- Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing
- Nausea or Vomiting
- Muscle or Body Aches
- New Loss of Taste or Smell
- Temperature (If Higher Than 100.3)
DAILY CONDITIONING PROTOCOLS:
- All summer activity is voluntary and will not be held against any student-athlete who may not participate.
- All athletes will be required to complete this permission registration
- Focus of training is reconditioning of the athletes and is limited to 3 – 60 minute sessions per week.
- All coaches and athletes will be required to self-screen symptoms (as detailed above) and record these results – Any coach or athlete with positive symptoms will not be allowed to participate- should self-isolate and contact their PCP.
- Athletes will be placed in cohorts of 5-10 and will remain in these cohorts for Phase 2. A coach will contact you to provide your cohort coach’s name.
- 6 ft separation, no physical contact, including high fives, fist bumps, etc, will be allowed and will be monitored at all times.
- Outdoor activities only
- Coaches will be required to wear a facemask at all times. Athletes will be required to wear facemask when not participating in high intensity workouts which includes the walk to and from parking lot.
- Athletes will need to provide a water bottle with an adequate supply of water, sports drink, etc… Athletes will not be allowed to participate without their own water bottle.
- To reduce congregation of athletes, we will offer 2 sessions and athletes will meet their coach in a designated spot in the parking lot for check in and will be escorted to the area of the conditioning. At the conclusion of the workout, the coach will escort athletes back to parking lot and ensure all protocols are in place until all athletes transportation has been accounted for..
- Any equipment that is used will not be shared within the cohort and properly disinfected before and after use.
- Skill work may be included after the completion of the first 2 weeks of conditioning based on guidance from the CIAC but no team may organize a team practice.
