DURFEE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
The COVID-19 pandemic presents athletic departments with a myriad of challenges. B.M.C. Durfee High School of Fall River athletic department including athletic directors, athletic training staff, coaches, players & parents, nursing staff and team physicians will work diligently to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 while on campus. We will continue to promote wellness and proper hygiene, face coverings and maintain social distancing.
MEDICAL INFORMATION FOR ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION
Before any athlete can participate in interscholastic sports at B.M.C. Durfee High School the student/athlete must do the following:
Parent/Guardian must complete the online registration which follows, including a health history of the student-athlete, and complete/sign included agreements.
IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS: All student athletes must have an up to date physical on file with the athletic trainer. The physical should state that the individual is cleared to participate and/or there are no apparent contraindications in routine school and camp, activities, competition and/or interscholastic sports.
SCHOOL SPORTS PHYSICALS OFFERED: The Durfee Athletic Department offers free sports physicals throughout the school year for students who are interested in participating in high school athletics. A parent/guardian must be present in order to receive a free physical. The next free physical is TBA. The medical forms required for the school physical can be printed from the Durfee Athletics website.
Students athletes must also:
Be academically eligible. (All incoming freshman are automatically academically eligible).
Please complete the educational course on concussion-(Concussion for Students) which can be found on the website: nfhslearn.com
The completion date must be on or after July 1, 2020 for the 2020/2021 academic year. Certificates from 2019 will not be accepted.
