Dear DPHS Students, Staff and Parents,
Merced County Public Health Department has allowed sports to slowly open back up. However, we have many guidelines we must adhere to as the safety of our students is our number one priority. This, like everything else, can and may change weekly, but for now I would like to make sure all students and parents are aware of these guidelines as summer practices are upon us.
1. Groups of 20 kids or less per coach
a. Groups of 20 or less including coach, groups can not rotate, kids must be standing 6ft apart when standing around or within their group
b. Groups should NEVER come together
2. Staggered arrival and departure times
a. Group A of 10 kids arrive to practice at 8:00 with coach A. Coach A leaves practice at 9:00 with group A
b. Group B arrives to practice at 8:15 with Coach B. Group B leaves practice at 9:15 with coach B
3. Gym, locker room, weight room and cafeteria are off limits
a. Students can only be outside
b. Students are not allowed in the locker room for any reason-Coaches only
c. Students can lift weights (outside of the weight room) but must sanitize equipment after every use. ALL EQUIPMENT MUST BE SANITIZED BEFORE A DIFFERENT STUDENT USES IT
4. No sharing of balls or equipment
a. Students can not pass a ball back and forth to each other
5. Absolutely no contact of other players or coaches
a. No pyramids for cheer
b. No high fives, no fist bumps, no hugging
c. Students must bring their own water
6. Face masks, gloves and sanitizer will be available as needed
a. Coaches and players may choose to wear a mask and gloves
b. Reminder to make sure everyone is always 6ft apart
7. Closed Practices
a. At this time we are not allowing visitors to watch practice
b. Parents may sit in cars but can not be standing around our students/coaches
8. Self Monitoring
a. Students and parents will need to sign a waiver releasing their child to participate in summer practices-Due to COVID-19
Students must stay home if they have a fever, cough or shortness of breath
b. Students must stay home if they have recently been in contact with someone with COVID-19
c. Students must stay home if they have recently traveled outside the United States

ATHLETIC PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS
Students must have physical examinations before any practice will be allowed or uniforms issued.
Sports physicals are only good for one calendar year.
NO EQUIPMENT FOR ANY SPORT WILL BE ISSUED UNTIL EACH PROSPECTIVE ATHLETE HAS COMPLETED THEIR ATHLETIC REGISTRATION
ACADEMIC STANDARDS FOR ATHLETICS
Students who participate in Dos Palos High School athletics must:
- Have a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Be on track to graduate according to Dos Palos High School graduation credit system (refer to page 36).
- Adhere to the guidelines established by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).

Information needed to register: It will be helpful to have the following information handy to allow for accurate completion of your online registration. (example: Doctor information, Health Insurance Information, Student ID.)
You will need to complete the registration once you begin the process.
