POLICIES AND INFORMATION

WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR

Due to the outdoor and exploratory nature of the program, students should be prepared to spend much of their time outdoors in our expansive 30 acres. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for being outside in rain, snow, or shine--and working in the studio and on the Park grounds. Students should wear clothes that can get messy and comfortable, sturdy shoes for walking.

DROP OFF & PICK UP

Art + Nature After School will meet in the Carriage House Studio. To get there from our parking lot, follow the path to the right of the deCordova Cafe and Store around the silver car and up the path to the back of the building, entering the green studio door.

All students are signed in and out each day by an authorized parent or guardian with an ID; hence parents MUST park their car and accompany their child to the Carriage House Studio at 3:30, and pick them up there at 5 pm. Your child will be released only to those persons listed on the pickup form, unless there is prior written consent.

LATE PICK UP

If you will be late to pick-up, please call Donna in the office at 781.259.3603 as early as possible to let us know.

Parents arriving 10 minutes or more after the 5 pm closing time will be charged a fee of $10. This rule is strictly enforced for the safety of all children.

ABSENCE

If your child is unable to attend for any reason, call Donna in the office at 781.259.3603 by 3 pm. Please leave a message with your child’s name and reason for absence.

PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

From time to time, in-house and news media photographers take pictures of classes, students, and student artwork. If prospective students or parents/guardians of prospective minor students have concerns about being photographed or about the images’ reproduction for promotional purposes, please contact us in writing at the time of registration.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Workshops cancelled or postponed because of inclement weather or other factors
will be made up, if possible. Participants can regularly call the main Museum line 781.259.8355 for
a recorded message, or check the Museum website www.decordova.org for a posting.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Full payment is due at the time of registration. A $30 non-refundable registration fee is included in the registration.  We do not issue refunds to workshops missed by the student. DeCordova reserves the right to cancel or change programs due to low enrollment. If the program is cancelled, a full refund will be issued.
