The 2020 High Performance Adventure Camp is scheduled to take place between July 26 and July 31 at the Stratton Mountain School campus, and will provide a fun week of conditioning, education, field games, and adventures in the mountains of Southern Vermont. With the COVID pandemic, we are being mindful for the safety of both the athletes and the staff. We are currently willing to take registrations and will later set a go or no-go date for the camp.
Mornings will be reserved for circuit training and education at Stratton Mountain School's US Ski and Snowboard High-Performance Center. This will help athletes develop strength, agility, and endurance in every part of the body. During this time campers will participate in physical testing, the results of which will be utilized to develop an individualized program for each athlete to follow throughout the remainder of the summer and fall. Afternoons will focus on fun, with adventures including hiking, swimming, and mountain biking planned alongside visits to a ropes course and alpine slide. Campers will also enjoy daily games on the Stratton Mountain School's Luckenbill Field.
This year, the camp will be restricted to day-campers only and campers should plan to arrive on campus by 9 a.m. each morning. Activities will begin at 9:15 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. with lunch served on campus daily. On Friday, July 31st, the morning will proceed as usual however, campers should plan to be picked up at 1 p.m. following lunch and a camp wrap-up session.
All campers should come equipped with the following:
- Day pack
- Running shoes and hiking shoes, or two pair of running shoes
- Water Bottle
- Extra T-shirt
- Bathing suit and towel
- Sun screen
- Raincoat if the weather calls for it
