Your AP number is required to complete this application.  If you do not have a College Board account, you will need to create one.  If you already have a College Board account (or more than 1 account), you will need to update/merge your credentials.  When you have completed creation of the College Board account, show your the account information to your AP teacher.

The AP teacher(s) will provide a JOIN code to access course work, assessments and other resources aligned with the AP test.  This will help you prepare for the exam.

Students who plan to participate in AP testing MUST complete ALL required sections of the online registration by October 28, 2019 and submit payment to South River High School by November 1, 2019.

The 2020 AP Exams will be administered May 4 - 8 and May 11 - 15.  Early testing or testing at times other than published by the College Board IS NOT PERMITTED under ANY circumstances.

  • Advanced Placement Testing will be given at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 Central Avenue East, Davidsonville, MD 21035.  Note: some students with accommodation requirements will test at South River High School, at the directive of the school test coordinator. 
  • The length of each test varies by subject - most exams take 3 - 3.5 hours of actual testing time.  Breaks, pre-exam preparation, and collection of materials after exams requires additional time requirements. Parents can expect morning exams to finish by 12:00pm and afternoon exams by 4:00pm.  Please note: End times are approximate - students are dismissed when ALL materials have been collected.
  • Students are expected to arrive by 7:30am for morning exams and 11:30am for afternoon exams (Physics C: Electricity/Magnetism should report by 1:30pm unless taking another afternoon exam).  Students who arrive after the exam has begun will not be admitted.
  • NO student may leave the exam room until dismissed at the end of the test session.  
  • Students who have after-school obligations, such as athletics or work, are responsible for making arrangements with coaches/employers to accommodate AP testing.
  • NO FOOD/DRINKS PERMITTED DURING TESTING SESSIONS - See the food/drink policy for more information regarding snacks and lunch (for double test days).

Transportation:

  • Students taking afternoon exams MUST provide their own transportation home.  AFTERNOON EXAMS WILL NOT BE FINISHED IN TIME FOR THE SRHS SCHOOL BUS HOME.
  • PARKING IS LIMITED at Riva Trace Baptist Church.  Students are encouraged to car pool, take the bus, or arrange drop-off/pick-up.
  • Parking is permitted ONLY in designated areas.  See Church Map for more information.
  • Riva Trace Baptist Church is a pre-school provider - for the safety of the children, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO CHURCH POSTED SIGNS regarding allowed parking areas, direction of travel, and speed.  
    • NO PARKING/NO PICK-UPS IN FIRE LANES.

Getting Ready for Exam Day - What to Bring / What to Leave Home

Late Testing Requests - See the Late Testing information on the application.  Should late testing be required, please contact the Test Coordinator jrmoore@aacps.org.  Note: if a student needs two exams which occur at the same time, testing for the second exam will be scheduled for a late-testing date.

SRHS Attendance Recording:

  • Students are not required to attend classes on the day(s) of AP examination and may be marked present with the submission of an AP Attendance Form prior to May 1, 2020.  
  • For attendance reporting, including to call out sick for an exam, contact Mrs Price at cprice@aacps.org 
  • If you are not able to sit for an exam due to illness, parents must contact Mr Moore prior to the start of the test session.

FEES FOR TESTING - test fees may be paid online with credit card, by cash or check (payable to SRHS).  

  • A $40 FEE WILL BE APPLIED TO ALL STUDENTS WHO ORDER A TEST, THEN DO NOT TAKE THE EXAM - EVEN IF A FEE WAIVER HAS BEEN APPLIED and that test was to be administered for free
  • Additional fees may be required for late testing sessions
  • Unpaid fees for AP testing will be turned in as an obligation to the student and WILL affect prom/graduation ticket processing

  • NO REFUNDS will be issued to students who are asked to leave, or fail to report to, a testing session.

Signatures Required

In order to help maintain the security, integrity and fairness of AP testing for everyone, I promise that I:

  • Will follow all policies and procedures related to maintaining the security of AP testing
  • Will not discuss content of the AP exam with anyone and will not share content online, through social media, via text or any other means
  • Understand that I cannot bring electronic equipment of any type (including cell phones) into the testing room and that if I bring these items to the test center, they will be powered off and held in a designated location outside the testing area (with the exception of an approved calculator for specific exams)
  • Will not bring food or drink into the testing room 
  • Will not attempt to enter the testing room after the test has begun, nor will I ask to leave before the test has completed for the day
  • Will not leave the testing room, designated break area or building without permission
  • Will not take any part of the exam or any notes related to the exam from the testing room
  • Will not copy the work of another student or any other source, nor will I give or receive assistance, or otherwise communicate, through any means, with another person about the exam during exam administration
  • Will not take the exam for another person
  • Will not create a disturbance

  • I also understand that my test will be void and scores invalidated if I am found having engaged in any form of misconduct, including (but not limited to):
    • having obtained improper access to an exam, part of an exam or information about an exam
    • removed a page or pages from an exam book
    • referring to, looking through or working on any exam or exam section at any time other than the timed testing session for that exam or section
    • accessing any prohibited aids or devices including a phone during the exam or breaks
    • having subject-related information on my clothing or body
    • using testing accommodations not pre-approved by College Board
  • And I understand that violation of test security policies may result in score cancellation and, in some circumstances, being permanently barred from future testing.

If for ANY reason I fail to take an AP test for which I have registered, or am required to leave a test in progress, I understand that I will be required to pay a $40 surcharge, which will go against my student obligations and may affect my ability to get tickets for prom and or graduation.  I also understand that WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND for the cost of the test.


Attendance Recording for AP Testing

  1. I understand that it is my responsibility to turn in an AP Attendance Reporting Form to the SRHS Attendance Office prior to May 1, 2020.
  2. I understand that if I fail to submit the AP Attendance Reporting Form in a timely manner, my absence from class will be marked as "unexcused" and I may not be given permission to make up any work that I missed.

Payment Method
Online or In-School Payments

You may elect to pay for AP exams online. Fees for using the online service will be applied to your total balance.

If you would like to pay online, please select "SUBMIT" or click on the link provided in your email confirmation and you will be redirected to our online payment processing center.

When paying online, please enter the description as: 2020 AP Exams and the student's last name. (ex: 2020 AP Exams - Smith)

Cash or Checks (payable to SRHS) also accepted. Cash/Check payments may be submitted to the South River High School Counseling Office.

Students who receive a fee waiver for AP testing will be charged $40 if they fail to take the exam. This fee is assessed by College Board for any student who does not sit for an exam, regardless of whether they received a fee waiver and the exam is free.

Additional fees may apply for late testing sessions.

Unpaid fees will be applied to a student's obligations and will impact prom and graduation ticket distribution.
