We are proud to offer the following Fall Sports:
Boys & Girls Cross Country
Field Hockey (9th/JV/V)
Coed Golf (JV/V)
Boys & Girls Soccer (9th/JV/V)
Girls Volleyball (9th/JV/V)
In order to participate in high school athletics, all students must have a current physical exam on file in the nurse’s office. According to the MIAA Handbook, a physical exam covers the student for 13 months from the exam date. Once a student’s physical has expired after 13 months, the student will no longer be eligible to participate in athletics. To regain eligibility, a new physical exam form must be submitted to the nurse’s office.
ATTENTION CLASSES OF 2024 (Incoming 9th Graders), 2022 (Rising Juniors) and New to South Student-Athletes:

Students may have to complete the test at home under strict guidelines. Information about this process will be communicated by the Athletic Department to all families in a timely manner as the season approaches.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Please review the instructions prepared by the Newton Public Schools to request an athletic waiver. We look forward to working with your family.
The Waiver Process:
As in prior years, it is the intention of the Newton Public Schools that no student be denied participation in school-sponsored activities and bus transportation due to the inability to pay. Financial assistance and waivers are granted based upon income and family size, as well as special circumstances such as unforeseen medical problems, change in family status, change in employment status, other emergencies, or other temporary hardships. All waiver applications are confidential. Financial waivers do not apply to high school parking.
Newton families can access detailed fee information including financial waiver instruction and online payment options on the district's website by visiting the following link:
