Dear New Hope-Solebury Families,
For the opening of school this Fall, all K-12 students will be returning to our buildings in accordance to our Health and Safety Plan (attached).
The New Hope-Solebury School District is dedicated to providing an alternative to families during these difficult times. As such, we are expanding our Virtual Academy to address the current challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the 2020-2021 School Year, New Hope-Solebury District families may elect to participate in our full-time New Hope-Solebury Virtual Academy.
The New Hope-Solebury Virtual Academy will offer a parallel program for all students K-12. This program will be taught by New Hope-Solebury School District teachers. Third-party content providers may be utilized in areas where our own staffing is not feasible.
The NHS Virtual Academy will:
- Provide a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
- Require daily student engagement
- Operate in tandem with, but separate from, our traditional in-person program
- Provide a cyber mentor at both the elementary and secondary level to act as an additional layer of support for students and families
If you elect to participate in our Virtual Academy students and families must agree to the expectations linked in the NHS Virtual Academy document attached below.
In order to provide a comprehensive online program, students and families should consider these expectations and make a serious commitment to this program. It is recommended that families consider this placement for the entire duration of the 2020-2021 School Year. Students who elect to participate in the NHS Virtual Academy may transfer back into the traditional in-person program at marking period breaks (November 6, January 22, and April 9).
After reading the two detailed communications regarding the opening of our New Hope-Solebury schools, please utilize this sign up to indicate the desired program for your child. There are also 3 other items regarding internet access, transportation, and food services.
A separate form should be completed for each child in your family.
This registration will be open for 1 week. Please submit this registration by August 6, 2020. A non-response will assume your child is returning to the school building in September.
