Arrive 8:00am Saturday for 8:30 departure from Sacred Heart Church

Return Monday, midday to Sacred Heart

Scouts will clean and put away gear before being dismissed by QM

Trip: Come join the fun & winter sun. Spend the weekend with your troop building amazing snow quinzees & sledding routes. This trip is a Scout favorite! Three days and two nights of snow sports fun, including: sledding, ice fishing, snowshoeing, snow soccer, camping and cooking with a roaring fire.

Accommodations: Custom snow quinzee or a tent for the scouts. Adults in heated cabin or your own quinzee or tent.  

Equipment: This is a winter camping trip and appropriate gear is required. The weather may include cold temperatures, high wind, and snow/ice. You must have proper cold weather equipment. See the winter equipment list (http://www.troop-x.com/equipment-lists.html ). If you don’t have all the gear you need, check with others in the troop to see what you can borrow.Bring a winter sleeping bag and foam (important) pad, headlamps, hat and gloves (few pairs). No cotton! Bring your own mess kit, own sled, XC skis (if you have them), and snow shovel if you plan to build a quinzee or help with the sledding course! Note: The troop will provide snowshoes for hiking.


Meals:
Bring a bag lunch to eat on Saturday upon arrival at the camp and $10-15 to buy breakfast at Tilton diner on the way home on Monday. Scouts will cook in patrols for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast, lunch and dinner together. Meal planning (for winter camping!) and duty roster assignments will take place during troop meeting prior to trip.
