Due to the constantly changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and
the unique needs of each family, students will have the flexibility to
choose to engage in face to face learning or remote learning for each grading period.
Families are asked to commit to either face to face learning or
remote learning for each grading period. The deadline to commit to
remote learning for the first grading period is August 5, 2020. A form
must be completed for each student. If this form is not completed,
students will be enrolled in face to face learning.
Face to Face Learning:
- Students in grades PK3-12 learn on campus with face-to-face instruction
distancing, face coverings, temperature checks and other health
requirements based on state and county guidelines should be expected.
- Students in grades PK3-12 learn at home with remote instruction
in grades 2-12 will have courses that are both synchronous (at a set
time) and asynchronous (self paced, with daily requirements)
- Technology devices provided by MISD for students who need them for remote learning
- Secondary students (grades 6-12) possible schedule adjustments due to course requirements (Athletics, Band and other courses that are tied with extracurricular activities require face-to-face instruction and are not available for remote learning. Likewise, students participating in remote learning will NOT be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities.)
