Welcome to Flagstaff High School ~ home of the Eagles! This year we celebrate our 97th year of educating Flagstaff's youth. Flagstaff High School is a comprehensive high school offering a wide variety of programs including an Advanced Placement Academy. We have a rich tradition of excellence in the classroom and in the athletic and activities arena. Our athletic and activities programs include Regional Champions, Sectional Champions as well as State Champions.
This year we are navigating uncharted waters and ask for your patience as we make adjustments and accommodations to ensure that we are in line with CDC, AIA and State Guidelines as it relates to COVID-19. We are working to provide a great extra-curricular experience but know that there may be changes. Please know that the safety and security of our students is our primary concern. For changes and updated information, please check the FHS webpage:
We utilize an online platform for our athletic and activities registrations in an effort to be more "green" as well as more efficient. We hope the process is clear and easy for you to navigate. Please contact us if we can be of assistance ~ (928) 773-8105.
INFORMATION NEEDED TO REGISTER:
• Doctor Information
• Health Insurance Information
• Student ID
Make sure your student has a current physical (done on or after March 1, 2020). If you experience difficulty getting in to see your physician or feel uncomfortable visiting your primary care provider we will be able to utilize the 2019-2020 sports physical if the following criteria are met since the athlete's 2019-2020 sports physical:
- Athlete has a 2019-2020 AIA sports physical on file with the school he/she is attending for 2020-2021.
- Athlete did not have any new injury or illness requiring outside medical evaluation or if injury did occur, was released for full athletic participation by a qualified medical professional (proof must be presented to the Athletic Office).
- Athlete did not have a concussion.
- Athlete did not receive a new medical diagnosis.
- Athlete has not had COVID-19.
The 2020-2021 Health History Form (15.7-A) must be completed and signed by student and parent/guardian.
Students must also complete Brainbook, the online concussion course. Brainbook only needs to be completed once during an athlete's high school career, so if they have participated in sports at FHS in the past their Brainbook Certificate should be on file. This year in addition to Brainbook there is a required course regarding Opioid Education, The Game You Can't Win. Please be sure both courses are completed prior to tryouts. MANDATORY PARENT/STUDENT MEETING:
To keep you informed of the Arizona Interscholastic Association requirements and changes in the bylaws – all parents/guardians along with their students are asked to attend a mandatory meeting each year prior to their student participating in AIA sanctioned activities.
We will be holding the fall meeting on:
Wednesday, August 12th @ 6:30pm ~ Fall Sports (Cross Country, Football, Golf, Swimming & Diving, Volleyball, Marching Band and Spiritline) in the Hurley Theatre.
At the conclusion of the general informational meeting, parents and students will be released to attend the team specific meeting which will discuss the upcoming season, tryout process, etc. and provide parents an opportunity to meet the coaching staff. Our goal is to cover all information on one night. Information nights are a great opportunity for you to turn in the physical paperwork and Brainbook if needed. This date may change based on COVID-19 requirements.
