Tri-Music Honor Society                                                   Ms. K. Akinskas

The mission of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is to foster a continued interest and desire for excellence in music performance, encourage appreciation in listening to music, promote opportunities for sharing music both within our school and within our community, advance musical knowledge, and to promote our school as a center for musical enrichment.

Students enrolled in a music performance class for the second, third or fourth year, with a weighted or un-weighted GPA of 90% or above are eligible to audition for the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society will present five recitals during the school year –November, December, January, February, and March.  All recitals are free and are open to the school and the community.

The group meets monthly and sponsors a Share the Music service project each year.

Share the Music                  A Tri-M Music Honor Society Community Service Project

·       What is Share the Music? Share the Music provides musical instruments to schools that cannot afford instruments. We provide instruments by:

o   Raising money with bake sales and raffles at concerts

o   Collecting instruments from members of the local community

·       How Can You Help? If you have an instrument in working condition collecting dust somewhere in your house, feel free to contact us. We will pick up any instruments at your convenience and also provide you with a voucher for an Astral Artistic Services Performance! If you don't have an instrument but are interested in supporting our cause, please stop by one of our bake sales or raffles! Thank you for your interest in helping us to share the music!
