LMS will be starting our Track and Field season on Monday, March 19th, 2018. Practices are Monday - Friday, 3:15-5:30. Athletes will need to meet in the Big Gym for attendance. We will be planning a parent meeting the first week of practice to go over the expectations and standards of the season. Track meets are generally on Wednesday or Thursday depending on the week. The first meet will be in early April with the end of the season in mid May.
We are very excited to have your athlete be a part of this team. Eligible athletes are grades 5-8. Please note that all athletes must have a current sports physical on file in the office prior to participation in practices or meets and fees must be paid prior to the first meet.
Physical Forms: EVERY athlete must have a physical on file in the office BEFORE they can begin practicing. New students and 6th graders must have a physical on the approved Physical Form. Returning students are required to have a new physical every two years. If you are an 8th grader please double check if your current physical will not be expired.
Physicals must be on the state mandated form and TURNED IN TO THE OFFICE, signed by the students' physician BEFORE PARTICIPATION CLEARANCE WILL BE ISSUED.
ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE INSURANCE COVERAGE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE - South Lane School District will be offering insurance through Myers-Stevens & Toohey and they are now offering online sign-ups at www.myers-stevens.com. You can also click on the link provided in the right-hand column. This process is not immediate so do not delay in applying.
AAU insurance is also another resource that has been helpful to families.
THE PARTICIPATION FEE MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY COMPETITION.

The signed physical form is the only printed and signed document that must be turned into the office.
