001 Coding Challenges

We will be discovering a new coding program each day; Scratch, MakeyMakey, Hummingbird Robotics Kits, and Spheros. Students will partake in challenges, make, invent, and use their imaginations.

002 Fly Fishing

Students will be introduced to Fly Tying, Entomology, Knot tying, Fly Fishing equipment, Fly Casting and ends with a session of pond fishing. This course is for students entering 5th - 7th grade.

003 Dance Techniques

Experience different styles of dance including hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, and cheer. Students can enjoy technique classes with Miss Warmbein, a dancer for over 20 years, and have a routine to perform at the end of the week!

004 Acting For TV, Theatre, & Film

This course will explore the basics of acting from both the stage and screen perspective. Students will learn the tools of the actor and how they translate into performance. From stage directions to the on-camera audition, we'll cover all the acting basics. Expect to be on your feet quite a bit in this very hands-on course!

005 Cardboard Robot Creation

Learn to make "robotic" creatures using skills in cardboard construction and circuitry. Disassemble and harvest parts from old electronics, then hack them into components to make your creature come to life!

006 Makerspace

Do you like to express your creative abilities by tinkering and making your own inventions? In this course, you will have the opportunity to make a catapult, a wearable, or a musical instrument, to name a few make and take projects.    So if you like to imagine and create, this course is for you!

007 Chef Academy

This summer we will be taking a culinary trip around the world !  The class will be cooking and baking many interesting foods from many interesting countries, including regional foods from the USA.  We will also expose the children to the diversities and similarities of food between these countries.

Have fun in the kitchen with hands-on experience.  Learn to follow recipes for a variety of delicious desserts and treats you'll love to create.

009 Beginning Model Rocketry

Do you like having fun while working with your hands and seeing something take shape? Would you like seeing your finished product take to the sky? That's what we do in Beginning Model Rocketry! We learn, we have fun while we learn, and we build a basic model rocket that you launch at the end of the week. This class combines history, art, science, and engineering. Safety is heavily stressed in this class, as well as step by step procedures to properly build, paint, and fly your basic model rocket. This is a great hobby to pursue upon completion of this class. BUILD 'EM AND FLY 'EM!  We’ll see YOU this summer!

010 Advanced Model Rocketry

Looking for a challenge in the sport of rocketry? Then this course is for you. This exciting course is offered only to the experienced rocketeer. You must have completed beginning model rocketry or obtain special permission from the instructor to take this course. Students will be supervised in the construction, painting,detailing and flying of a skill level II or III model rocket. Emphasis will be placed on accurately following directions and procedures. IT'S A BLAST!

011 Video Production

Do you have what it takes to be the next movie star? Find out with this hands-on course where you will work in a small group to plan a movie in a genre of your choice. After planning your storyboard, you'll have the opportunity to put your acting skills to use in the making of a short film. In addition, you will learn how to use a green screen, video camera, and movie editing software to create your very own movie. Upon completion of this one week course, students will receive a digital copy of their featured film. So, bring your creativity and join us for this exciting course!

012 Spin and Dance with the Blue Devil Color Guard & Rockettes

This summer, the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devil Marching Band will be offering a fun and unique way to explore the sport of Color Guard and Rockettes. Students will participate in classes taught by the marching band auxiliary staff as well as current members of the Color Guard and Rockette Team. Students will learn basic skills in dance and flag and will have performance opportunities in the fall with the Blue Devil Marching Band to showcase their new skills for friends and family.

013 Board Games & Buddies

Put your video games and cell phones away for a while!  Grab a board game and grab a few buddies! At Board Games and Buddies, kids will have a chance to connect with friends new and old through friendly competition.  Have a favorite game that we don't have? Feel free to bring it in and challenge the group! Come ready to have fun, learn some new games, meet some new friends, and be good sports!

014 Band- All About That Bass

Bass players unite! Spend a week with former Mt. Lebanon bass player Evan Reichenfeld sharpening your skills and appreciation of the coolest instrument in any orchestra, jazz, rock or pop band. All levels of students welcome. Bring your instruments and let's groove all week!

015 Band- Rock Band

Students will spend the week learning about rock and roll and how to play together in a band. Instead of studying Bach or Beethoven, we'll study Led Zeppelin and AC/DC! Together, we'll form our own rock band and play a legendary show in just a week! All instrumentation is welcome and students are encouraged to bring any instrument they wish to rock out on!

018  Babysitting

Everything you need to know to become “the” go-to babysitter in your neighborhood! This course will educate children on all of the do’s and don’ts of becoming an expert babysitter. Through this course, your child will know how to handle situations that make occur while babysitting. Examples of topics covered are: making sure you have emergency numbers for the children and yourself, having someone knowing where you are, what to do if someone’s at the door, how to handle an uncomfortable situations, having transportation, cooking if asked to, etc. In addition, we are going to dive into some great literature on babysitting!

020 Yoga

This course will teach students the basic yoga poses and movements. Students will learn the importance of yoga as it balances your mind and body. I will show students how deep breathing techniques can be used to calm your body when in stressful situations, when you need to relax, or if you have trouble falling asleep!

021 Geology

This course will involve using physical models to demonstrate interesting geologic processes, often related to natural disasters or hazards. Examples include the use of sandbox models to demonstrate mountain belt formation and retaining wall failure, use of shakers to demonstrate liquefaction during earthquakes, sound waves to show plastic deformation of non-Newtonian fluids, and more!
