Co-Curricular Activities are district and/or school authorized activities, which take place outside of the regular school day and do not involve class credit, including, but not limited to student government, theater productions, clubs, community activities, and athletics. The Mount Greylock School District is dedicated to offering an outstanding activities program to the students of this district. Mount Greylock students can choose from approximately 20 co-curricular organizations. The co-curricular program at Mount Greylock is an important part of the school's educational curriculum. Student participants benefit from an enriched educational experience and are provided with lifelong and life quality learning experiences. Through participation in these opportunities, students can have experiences and training in events not ordinarily obtainable in the general curriculum.
According to the Mount Greylock School Committee Policy, the co-curricular program at Mount Greylock should always conform to the general objectives of the school. At no time should the program be emphasized to the detriment of
the total educational program. Faculty advising, whether it be leading a club, directing a play, or coaching athletics, is an essential component of all levels of the co-curricular program. All members of the co-curricular staff must maintain the highest standard of ethics, abide by the rules, regulations and officials' decisions that govern each activity, recognize each participant as an individual, conduct themselves in a manner befitting their responsibilities, and develop the kind of rapport with the total school community that will improve the total educational program.
