2016-2017 SPRING High School/ Middle School Athletics (FACULTY ONLY)

Dear Crusader Family,

It is our desire at Northwest Christian to demonstrate how Jesus Christ can make a difference in our lives. We recognize that athletics can be emotionally charged. We understand that the journey toward demonstrating self-control, good sportsmanship and peace during stormy times will challenge us; however, we are committed to the challenge of going the Jesus Way. Please join us as we trust Him.

“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ."
Philippians 1:27

Athletic Philosophy – Growth for the Whole Person

Northwest Christian purposes to help meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of young people through the provision of a variety of athletic programs. Well-organized and managed athletic programs convey many Biblical principles taught by the Lord Jesus. Unity, others first, stewardship, commitment, self control and respect for authority are only a few principles that characterize individuals who are working together to build a team that honors the Lord Jesus. Those who are involved with a desire and commitment to honor the Lord will immeasurably gain from the opportunities provided through specific athletic programs.

Emotional Growth – Healthy through right responses in our setting to teammates, coaches, teachers, parents, opponents and officials.
Mental Toughness – An excellent life lesson – keeps going, doesn't quit, and presses on.

Physical Growth – Athletics, as life, is hard work…run in such a way to win.

Spiritual Growth – It's a game with a whole lot of life lessons attached along the way: play the game, learn the life lessons and enjoy the process.
High School students interested in school athletics must be eligible under the rules of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (www.wiaa.com) and NWC policies and procedures for Athletic Eligibility. For more information about these guidelines and eligibility, please contact Aaron Spuler, Athletic Director at 238-4005 ext. 134.

All NWC high school, middle school and elementary athletes will be asked to have a current Athletic Physical before allowed to practice. The appropriate athletic fee must be paid before the first athletic competition.
