2017 Fall Wayland-Weston Crew,

A competitive high school rowing program for students in grades 9 - 12 attending Wayland and Weston public high schools. Wayland-Weston Crew is a varsity sport at both high schools. Two seasons are offered: fall and spring; you do not have to do both seasons.

Returning rowers: Registration deadline: midnight, August 20, 2017. Late fee $50 after this date.

New Rowers: Registration with WWRA for new members stays open with no late fee but please check your school's deadlines for physicals and their registration, which you must also complete.

The Varsity's first day of the Fall season is August 24th 

*VB  Weekday, 2pm-6pm...Saturday 9am-12

*VG Week Day, 8am-12...Saturday 8am-11am

Novices boys and girls starts Monday 28th 3-6pm

Be sure you have an up-to-date physical on file with your high school. Physical must not be older than 13 months before October 27. If it will be older than 13 months at any time before October 27, you MUST get a new one or you will not be able to participate.

    VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Parents and volunteers do the behind the scenes work that makes this program successful. Therefore, it is required that every family that registers a child for the program join one of the following committees. Please choose one of the four committees and indicate your specific interest(s) below. You don't need to know anything about rowing!! And, don't worry, you will receive guidance as to what needs to be done and how. Committees will meet regularly and report to the board of directors.

Agreement to abide by the Wayland-Weston Crew Code of Conduct and Policies

Commitment Statement: We, parents/guardians and student rowers of the WW Crew team, acknowledge to reading the Wayland-Weston Crew Code of Conduct, Substance Abuse and all Policies stated in the section above. We understand and agree to abide by these rules of conduct and policies. We further acknowledge that failure to agree to these policies online renders the student rower ineligible to be a member of Wayland-Weston Crew.

US Rowing Waiver

My son/daughter and I have completed the online US Rowing Release of LIability at https://membership.usrowing.org (enter club code EUZXC)

Swim Test

Before the first day of practice, my son/daughter will have taken and passed the WWRA required swim test with a certified lifeguard (returning rowers will already have a form on file). Swim test forms are available on the WWRA website, wwcrew.org.

Medical Release Form

WAYLAND-­WESTON CREW MEDICAL RELEASE FORM

I authorize certified staff to give Basic First Aid/CPR/AED to my child if needed. In the event of an emergency, I hereby authorize my

child be transported to the nearest medical facility as deemed appropriate by responding medical personnel and secure necessary

medical treatment. In the event that I cannot be reached, I authorize the physician attending to my child to secure and administer

treatment as necessary. I understand that the staff will make every effort to notify me and/or my emergency contacts of the

emergency immediately. I authorize the staff to contact and to release my child to the emergency contacts that I designate on this

form. Minor injuries will be reported to parents at the end of the day; minor illness will be reported to parents at the onset.


Weston HIgh School - Consent and Release Form for Out of State Travel

WESTON HIGH SCHOOL -- PARENTAL CONSENT, RELEASE FROM LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT: I the undersigned parent(s) or guardian(s) of the Weston High School registrant, a minor, do hereby consent to his/her participation in the following voluntary school activities:

Other registration information
COMPLETE HIGH SCHOOL CLEARANCE:
Crew is administered by two organizations: Wayland-Weston Rowing Assn and your high school. Therefore, in addition to completing our registration forms, each participant must complete his/her school clearance process. You will not be permitted to take part in any on-water or off-water activity with Wayland-Weston Crew until you are cleared by your high school. Please be sure that your physical will not be older than 13 months at any time before October 27, and that it is turned in to your school promptly. ORDER TEAM UNIFORM:
Team uniforms are available on our JL Team Store website: https://www.jlracing.com/page.WaylandWeston.html. The store will close at midnight, Monday, August 22. All required items are noted in red. Since every piece is made to order, JL does not accept returns.
VARSITY:
As the uniforms are the same as last year, returning Varsity athletes are not required to purchase a new uniform.
New Varsity athletes must have the team uni shown in the JL team store.

NOVICE:
New Novice athletes must wear the novice team tank and black trou (spandex shorts). There is a sizing tab, but if you are still unsure there is a “Don’t know” option at the end of the dropdown menu by each item. You will be asked to provide measurements at checkout.

Everything else in the JL store is optional.
