Interested in rowing? 

Whether you are brand new to the sport, or have some experience, you have the opportunity to row on Lake Cochituate this Fall. Experience the fitness benefits and joy of rowing, enjoy being outdoors, bring your friends or make new ones!

These program is open to the community. You do not have to be affiliated with Wayland or Weston,

The Fall Season is ideal for any  7th and 8th graders that are curious about rowing, or may have rowed in the summer, and or through the school year.  You will learn how to row in a variety of racing boats, and will be practicing out of the Varsity Wayland-Weston Crew’s Boathouse, located at the Wayland Town Beach on Lake Cochituate.  

We are offering two option this Fall: (Both Programs include a WWCrew Middle School Program T-Shirt)

  • Saturday's only , Sept 9-Oct 28 ) 10:30am-12:30pm Fee $200
  • Tuesday, Thursday (4:00pm-6:15pm) & Saturday 10:30am-12:30pm  (Sept 4th-Oct 28   Fee $400

We have a tentative scrimmage schedule for Oct  7th  and 8th graders will have an option to race at the Massachusetts State Championships in Lowell on Oct 29th.

A swim test is required prior to the start of your session. The swim test form can be found at: Completed forms can be brought to the first day or mailed to WWRA, PO Box 5508, Wayland, MA 01778. If you have already completed a swim test with WWRA, you do not need to do another. If you have completed a swim test for another rowing program, you may submit a copy of that swim test in lieu of doing another test.

All registrants must complete an online waiver with US Rowing. The waiver is good for the calendar year. You will be asked later during the registration process to confirm that you have done this. Please visit the following website to sign the online waiver:

Participant Information

Agreement to abide by the Wayland-Weston Crew Code of Conduct and Policies

Commitment Statement: We, parents/guardians and student rowers of the WW Crew team, acknowledge to reading the Wayland-Weston Crew Code of Conduct, Substance Abuse and all Policies stated in the section above. We understand and agree to abide by these rules of conduct and policies. We further acknowledge that failure to agree to these policies online renders the student rower ineligible to be a member of Wayland-Weston Crew.

Swim Test

Before the first day of practice, my son/daughter will have taken and passed the WWRA required swim test with a certified lifeguard (returning rowers will already have a form on file). Swim test forms are available on the WWRA website,

Medical Release Form


I authorize certified staff to give Basic First Aid/CPR/AED to my child if needed. In the event of an emergency, I hereby authorize my

child be transported to the nearest medical facility as deemed appropriate by responding medical personnel and secure necessary

medical treatment. In the event that I cannot be reached, I authorize the physician attending to my child to secure and administer

treatment as necessary. I understand that the staff will make every effort to notify me and/or my emergency contacts of the

emergency immediately. I authorize the staff to contact and to release my child to the emergency contacts that I designate on this

form. Minor injuries will be reported to parents at the end of the day; minor illness will be reported to parents at the onset.
