Woodstock Union High School & Middle School Philosophy Statement
In conjunction with the Windsor Central Unified District, the Woodstock Union High School and Middle School Athletic Department embodies an education-based philosophy, welcomes diversity and inclusion, facilitates growth and development, supports health and wellness, promotes community enrichment and outreach, and recognizes how heavily athletic participation factors into the long-term success of our young men and women. It is our belief that at WUHSMS that our students are our highest priority. Interscholastic athletics, co-curricular activities, and recreational opportunities are all vital components of our secondary school education program that provide unique opportunities for students to achieve their full potential, as athletes and as people, in a setting which is both demanding and rewarding. Our ability to help our students excel stems from athletic participation in a culture that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It is through the tireless, collaborative efforts of our coaches, faculty, staff, and administrators that we strive to inspire and instill positive character traits and high ethical standards in our students, sustain competitive retention and academic success rates, successfully compete at a prominent level throughout the State of Vermont, work toward the continued development of our facilities, and showcase the academic and athletic achievements of our students that will help them develop into model citizens who achieve their long-term aspirations.
