Unadilla Valley is a rural district with about 800 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12 housed in one building that was completed in 2002. The district was established as a result of a merger between the former New Berlin and South New Berlin Central Schools, effective July 1, 1996.
The teaching staff is composed of 70 full and part-time teachers and teacher assistants. There are 90 support staff members. The Administrative Council includes the Superintendent, Director of Curriculum and Instruction/Secondary Principal, Elementary School Principal, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Business Official/School District Treasurer.
Our district provides elementary students with Morning Program, a motivational assembly that helps begin the children's day on a positive note. Our Morning Program personnel have trained the staff of 120 other schools in New York State to create state-validated Morning Programs for their own elementary students.
The Secondary School uses both a traditional and a block schedule incorporating a 4 x 4 semester plan. Courses for college credit are available to students in grades 9 - 12. Students have the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree in High School through the Early College Program. The secondary school participates in the Liberty Partnership Program in cooperation with SUNY Morrisville.Unadilla Valley Central School is a component of the Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES and purchases both educational and support services from them.
The district also participates in the Catskill Regional Teacher Center and is home to one of its satellite centers.
