Pearl River Athletics

Home of the Pirates

The vision of the Athletic Department is to enrich the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of all students by providing competitive opportunities in which lifelong values of sportsmanship, leadership, team work, and integrity are emphasized. The athletic programs in the Pearl River School District are founded upon the principle that the playing field is an extension of the classroom and the athletic experience contributes to the overall growth of the mind and body. It is believed that participation in sports provides a wealth of opportunities and experiences to assist students throughout their education.

The cornerstones of the Pirates tradition were laid generations ago by some of the community's most well respected coaches and student-athletes, many of whom continue to be involved in the athletic program as supportive parents, sports boosters and community members. While the names will change from year to year, the principles they embodied remain the same – dedication and desire, character, citizenship, commitment, compassion and competitiveness, along with the importance of working collectively toward a common goal. Still today, these are just some of the positive values that echo across the Pearl River playing fields and gymnasiums.

As the 'Captain' of the Pirate Ship, I am enthusiastic and excited about leading this great tradition in athletics as we continue to grow and build upon the success that has built such a strong foundation in Pearl River. It is a great pleasure to be a part of a community that strives for excellence in both academics and athletics. The large number of students who participate in athletics is reassuring that we have a community who supports the success and tradition of our athletic programs. I look forward to meeting each of you and I encourage you to visit the Athletic Department website for additional information and updates throughout the year.
