NEW ENGLAND RUNNING ACADEMY: A clinic that will help prepare your child for his/her Fall season in cross country at the middle school level. Cross country is offered in most middle schools beginning at the sixth grade. It is a sport in which teams and individuals race over natural terrain, hills, open country and/or through woodlands for up to 2 miles.
Coaches Kathy Fleming and Michelle Davis, both USA Track and Field Level 1 coaches, will mentor, condition, and mentally prepare your child for the cross country season. The clinic will feature guest speakers, including Olympic athletes and other professionals in the sport. The clinic will cover proper hydration/nutrition, stretching, drills, and mental strategies. There will be staple cross country workouts that will get your athlete ready for any endurance sport.
Kathy and Michelle were both members of IAAF World Cross Country teams for the United States (1992, 1998) and Canada (1999) respectively. With their combined experience and knowledge of the sport, your student athlete will be prepared and ready to go.
