Statement of Purpose: The purpose of Macon Road Baptist School (MRBS) is to teach students an understanding of God’s great love for them and that the only reasonable response to this sacrificial love should be a willing submission of their lives to Jesus Christ. We also want to teach them that their identity in Jesus Christ overshadows all other earthly things in which they may seek their identity and that true happiness only comes by learning and following how God has designed every part of life to function.

School History:  Macon Road Baptist School opened in 1973 as a ministry of Macon Road Baptist Church.  Macon Road has grown to over 600 students on three campuses.

Affiliations and Accreditation: We are accredited through the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS) and through AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). We are also a member of the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS).

Academic Programs:

Pre-school (3- and 4-year-olds): Our preschool program provides a warm, nurturing environment in a child-centered classroom.  Teachers use age-appropriate learning materials and a variety of teaching strategies to help each child develop academically, socially, and spiritually.   Our Christian-based curriculum provides for individual differences and opportunities for success in reading, writing and math.   Each child's study of reading, writing, and numbers will be enhanced by enrichment classes in: art, music, Spanish, library, and physical education. We provide the building blocks needed for a great  well-rounded educational experience in a fun and caring environment.

Elementary K5 -5grade: Macon Road Baptist School’s elementary program places a strong emphasis on reading and math. We understand that core academic skills are developed and established on the elementary level. Therefore, we strive to equip each student with the academic, social, and spiritual foundation that is needed for higher levels of learning. Bible is taught daily, integrated in every subject, and expanded upon in our weekly chapel service. Our curriculum is Christ-centered and appropriately challenging at each grade level.   Each grade is also enriched with art, library, music, physical education, Spanish, and technology.  Opportunities for students to participate in band, hand chimes, choir, and sports begins in the fourth grade. Recognizing that God has uniquely created each student, we understand that each student learns differently. Therefore, our teachers use a variety of teaching styles to reach and engage every student. The classroom learning environment includes child-centered learning, along with cooperative   learning, and hands-on experiments. Each teacher provides students with an exciting, nurturing and safe environment to help them excel as individuals.

Middle School 6-8 grade:  Middle school helps transition from elementary school to high school, and helps prepare students for college preparatory classes. The middle school core curriculum is content-driven and Bible-based with emphasis on concepts necessary for success in high school.  Beginning in the 6th grade, students will be issued a school-managed iPad and a Smart keyboard to use for academics. The Middle school students may choose from enrichment classes in: art, band, choir, hand chimes,  drama, technology, literature enrichment, theater, and physical education.  Middle school teachers use a variety of teaching methods to address the various academic levels and learning styles of   students in a nurturing and supportive environment. These include hands-on activities, lectures,   research, technology, and higher level thinking activities.

High School 9-12 grade: Macon Road Baptist School high school students are provided a challenging course of study that builds upon the foundation prepared for them.  This course of study prepares students for college and entrance requirements.  All courses provide students with a Christ-centered worldview in academics as well as life.  The main course of study is enriched with elective courses such as: art, band, choir, drama, hand chimes, technology, yearbook, ACT prep, and personal fitness.  Students will be issued a school-managed iPad and a Smart keyboard to use for academics. Our curriculum offers regular, honors, and Advanced Placement options in a variety of subjects.   Juniors and seniors may register for dual enrollment classes through Bryan College.
