Go Tides!

Given our current environment, athletics for the 2020-2021 school year will require some changes.  The nature of those changes will be driven by local health authorities, the Peninsula School District, OSPI, the WIAA and our state government.  The traditional sports played in the traditional seasons (fall, winter, and spring) are all subject to change as are the dates for each season.  Our goal is to ensure the safety of all our student athletes as they return to athletics.  This website will be updated once we know the specific registration dates for the 22 sports teams at Gig Harbor High School.

Bob Werner

Director of Athletics

Gig Harbor High School believes that interscholastic sports promote sportsmanship and citizenship. The athletic programs instill pride in school, community, teach lessons for life, self discipline, and develop students physically and emotionally.

Athletics are an extension of a solid educational program. Research shows that students who participate in activities/athletics tend to maintain higher grade point averages, better attendance, and fewer discipline problems.

Participation in the Gig Harbor High School athletic program is a valuable part of a student's high school career.
