Austin Preparatory School's Interscholastic Athletic Program is designed to be an integral part of the total educational experience of the Austin student.
We believe in athletics as an extension of the classroom whereby student-athletes learn valuable lessons not only specific to their sport, but ones that transcend sports and apply to everyday living. In fact, athletics provides a unique and tangible way for students to learn to compete intensively and respectfully.
We urge our coaches to help our student-athletes to become the best people they can become by stressing the ideals of commitment, hard work, and sound decision-making.
We strongly believe in the importance of sportsmanship, not only displayed by our student-athletes and coaches, but by our fans and families as well. We expect our student athletes, coaches, fans, and families to show respect at all times for teammates, opponents, and officials alike, and to be respectful at all times of the property, playing fields and facilities of others.
We believe that the athletic experience at Austin Preparatory School should provide each participant, regardless of sport or level of team, with sound physical, mental, moral, emotional, and social benefits that will help shape our young people as they become young adults.
Try-outs are open to all students, provided they are in good academic standing, are good school citizens and are physically fit to participate. Participation in the program is a privilege, which students earn by maintaining these standards.
